Job Title: Maternal Newborn Nurse (Rotational Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY

Shift: Rotational Shift

Job Summary:

The Maternal Newborn Registered Nurse (RN) provides care for postpartum mothers and newborns while rotating between day and night shifts. The RN plays a key role in maternal and neonatal care, ensuring recovery and education for families.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor postpartum recovery and assess newborns for health concerns.
  • Provide guidance on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
  • Administer pain relief medications and assist with postpartum healing.
  • Recognize early signs of maternal or newborn complications.
  • Conduct newborn screenings, vaccinations, and assist with safe sleep education.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Maternal Newborn, Postpartum, or Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital.
  • Ability to adapt to rotating shifts while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Education & Licensure:

  • Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Shift Availability: Rotational Shift
  • Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
