Job Title: Registered Nurse – Obstetrics (Night Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY
Shift: Night Shift

Job Summary:

The Obstetric Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to expectant mothers throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery during night shifts. The RN manages routine and high-risk deliveries and supports neonatal care.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, identifying any complications.
  • Administer labor-inducing medications and pain management interventions.
  • Assist in vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
  • Provide postpartum care, including hemorrhage monitoring and newborn assessments.
  • Offer patient education on recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies such as placental abruption or eclampsia.
  • Ensure proper documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Work closely with OB/GYN teams, midwives, and neonatal specialists.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe birthing environment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Obstetrics or Labor & Delivery in an acute care hospital.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to manage high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies.

Education & Licensure:

  • Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification – Preferred
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Shift Availability: Night Shift
  • Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
