Job Title: Registered Nurse – Obstetrics (Day Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY
Shift: Day Shift

Job Summary:

The Obstetric Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth. The RN ensures a safe labor and delivery experience, assists in high-risk pregnancies, and provides postpartum and newborn care.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being throughout pregnancy and labor.
  • Assist in labor, vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections.
  • Administer medications, epidurals, and IV fluids as needed.
  • Educate patients on prenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, fetal distress, and postpartum hemorrhage.
  • Provide lactation support and guidance for new mothers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety and infection control policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in an Obstetric or Labor & Delivery setting in an acute care hospital.
  • Strong ability to manage high-risk pregnancies and childbirth emergencies.

Education & Licensure:

  • Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification – Preferred
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Shift Availability: Day Shift
  • Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
