Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Rotational Shift 

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across NJ, NY & Upstate NY

Shift: Rotational 

Job Summary:

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides expert care for expectant mothers throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. The RN ensures patient safety, assists in vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and provides essential education to mothers and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery.
  • Assist in vaginal and cesarean section births, ensuring a sterile environment.
  • Administer medications, including IV fluids and epidurals, as ordered.
  • Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn assessments.
  • Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress and postpartum hemorrhage.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health system.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital safety policies and infection control standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in Labor & Delivery in an acute care hospital.
  • Strong ability to assess, monitor, and manage high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.

Education & Licensure:

  • Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification – Preferred
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
  • Duration: 13 Weeks
  • Shift Availability: Rotational
  • Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
