Title: RN - Wound Care
Location: New York, NY, 10004
Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks + High Possibility of Extension
Pay Range: $2,000 - $3,000 per week (depending on experience)
Conduct health assessment interviews focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care. Perform physical assessments and develop care plans based on diagnosis and individual patient needs. Recommend appropriate medications and treatments.
Develop, revise, and evaluate standards of care, assisting in the selection of supplies, technology, and equipment.
Assess and document patient response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound treatments. Evaluate the quality and delivery of care provided by clinical staff.
Collaborate with the healthcare team and make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
Educate, counsel, and assist patients and families in managing and preventing complications related to ostomies, wounds, or continence issues.
Develop and provide staff education programs, including new employee orientation, in-service training, and continuing education.
Conduct routine assessments of patients at risk for pressure injuries and initiate preventive measures.
Escalate and communicate identified challenges, including ethical issues and conflict resolution.
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Wound Care to recommend best practices based on assessments.
Participate in Unit/Department Quality Improvement and Hospital-Wide QI activities, including Incidence and Prevalence Studies.
Provide culturally competent patient, family, and staff education that aligns with cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs.
Maintain security and confidentiality of patient data in accordance with policy.
Maintain professional competency by engaging in continuous learning related to clinical practice and patient care.
Identify and refer patients to available community resources.
Manage asset inventory related to rented equipment such as specialty beds and Negative Pressure Devices.
