Job Title: Registered Nurse – Mother Baby (Night Shift)

Location: Healthcare Facilities Across New Jersey

Shift: Night 

Job Summary:

The Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) provides postpartum and newborn care during night shifts, ensuring a safe and restful recovery period for new mothers while monitoring the health and development of newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine assessments of mothers and newborns throughout the night.
• Monitor and support breastfeeding and bottle-feeding efforts.
• Recognize early signs of postpartum complications or neonatal distress.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to mothers experiencing postpartum challenges.
• Educate new parents on infant care, sleep safety, and postpartum self-care.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management interventions.
• Assist with neonatal screenings, vaccinations, and routine procedures.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Mother Baby, Postpartum, or Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital.
• Strong ability to assess maternal and newborn health status and respond to emergencies.

Education & Licensure:

• Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Work Schedule:

• Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Shift Availability: Night
• Requirements: Every other weekend, holiday shifts required, no on-call
