Job Title: MRI Technologist

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Contract: 13 weeks 
Hours Per Week: 40 hours (8-hour shifts)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM & M-F 3:00 PM-11:30 PM

Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality MRI imaging procedures under the direction of a qualified physician. This role involves preparing and positioning patients, ensuring compliance with imaging protocols, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The technologist will work closely with radiologists and healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

MRI Procedures & Imaging:

  • Perform MRI examinations with precision and adherence to department protocols.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning, use of immobilization devices, and accurate application of magnetic pulses for optimal imaging.
  • Monitor patients for safety during procedures, including those requiring contrast media.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists to develop imaging protocols for accurate diagnosis.

Patient Care & Communication:

  • Provide clear instructions to patients before, during, and after MRI procedures.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety, addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Transport patients safely to and from the MRI suite when needed.

Operational & Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain patient logs, equipment downtime records, and inventory levels.
  • Accurately document and charge patient exams in the system.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, reporting issues to senior technologists or supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Follow all radiation safety and infection control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and department standards.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in performing imaging studies and processing images promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Required:
    • NJ State MRI License
    • ARRT (MRI) Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed MRI Technologist.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare teams.
