Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health Triage Nurse

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing.
• BLS certification required; Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred.
• Experience in assessing mental health crises and substance abuse disorders.

Duties:

• Assess patients for psychiatric emergencies, including suicidal ideation and acute distress.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Refer patients to appropriate mental health resources and inpatient treatment when necessary.
• Administer medications for acute agitation and anxiety management.
• Collaborate with social workers, psychiatrists, and crisis response teams.
• Educate patients and families on mental health treatment options.
• Maintain compliance with behavioral health triage protocols and confidentiality regulations.
