Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Dallas, TX
Pay Rate: $37 Hourly
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), including weekend rotations
Department: Cardiopulmonary

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Cardiopulmonary department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, particularly in critical and post-surgical settings, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Ventilation Management: Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation for patients with respiratory failure or post-cardiac surgery.
  • Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Monitoring: Perform ABG analysis to evaluate oxygenation, ventilation, and acid-base balance in critically ill patients.
  • Oxygen Therapy: Administer oxygen therapy and monitor patient response.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in cardiac arrest situations, performing CPR and airway management during code blue events.
  • Pulmonary Function Testing: Conduct tests such as spirometry and lung volume measurements to assist in diagnosing and managing lung diseases.
  • Airway Management: Assist with intubation and extubation procedures, ensuring patient safety.
  • Post-Surgical Care: Provide respiratory support and monitoring for patients recovering from cardiac or thoracic surgeries.
  • Chest Physiotherapy: Administer therapy to help clear secretions in patients with compromised lung function.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and families on respiratory care, breathing techniques, and the use of inhalers or nebulizers for long-term management.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs and response to therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Required Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in respiratory care.
  • Licensure and Certifications:
    • Current Texas State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
