Job Title: Registrar
Location: New York, NY 10019

Schedule:

  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Hours per Week: 37.5
  • Hours per Day: 7.5
  • Days per Week: 5

Duties:

  • Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Answer telephones promptly, direct calls, take messages, and ensure proper delivery.
  • Collect and distribute patient referral information from affiliated physicians.
  • Escort patients and visitors to appropriate areas and provide necessary information.
  • Ensure an environment sensitive to cultural diversity and promote inclusiveness.
  • Distribute and ensure availability of important departmental reading materials.
  • Register patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and update financial data.
  • Generate patient charts and attach necessary documents according to policy.
  • Process specimens for laboratory use, ensuring proper labeling and form completion.
  • File and retrieve patient charts, ensuring proper documentation is recorded.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient recall files and logs.
  • Assist in making clinic appointments and obtain necessary signatures for consent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department functions.
  • Provide assistance with patient transport and interpreting as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment in the department.

Skills:

  • 6-9 months of healthcare experience preferred for familiarity with policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and demonstrate sound judgment in difficult situations.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of keyboard functions.
  • Sufficient oral and written communication skills in English.

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED.
