Job Title: Radiology Tech CWR
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

Schedule and Hours:

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week
  • 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
  • Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. This role ensures high-quality imaging by adhering to established protocols and performing essential tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, utilizing immobilization devices, and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
  • Use cone and collimating devices to minimize radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
  • Conduct portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
  • Properly identify and mark x-ray films with the patient's name, x-ray number, and correct side identification.
  • Develop exposed x-ray films using established processing methods.
  • Complete patient requisitions with relevant details, including technologist initials, date, number, and film size.
  • Maintain an organized and clean x-ray room following departmental standards.
  • Prepare and assist in administering radiopaque contrast media as directed by physicians.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, providing patient instructions, filing films, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist patients with mobility challenges during imaging procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
  • Modify care and communication to meet the specific needs of the patient population, including factors such as age, culture, and language.
  • Adhere to the organization’s standards of care and competencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility, with the ability to work independently in emergency rooms and with trauma patients.
  • Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and performing procedures with minimal supervision.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Completion of clinical and certification requirements set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).

Licensure and Certifications Required:

  • New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License.
  • A.R.R.T. certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
  • Applicant must meet National Registry requirements and pass the corresponding examination.
