Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations independently and effectively. The role includes producing high-quality images, ensuring radiation safety, and providing patient care in a variety of settings, including the emergency room, trauma cases, and operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors.
  • Ensure radiation safety by using collimation devices and restricting the radiation beam to necessary areas.
  • Conduct portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
  • Identify and label x-ray films accurately, following operational procedures.
  • Process x-ray films using available methods and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain and organize the x-ray room and equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures.
  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians in administering it.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient instructions, and record maintenance.
  • Provide patient care, assisting with movement, positioning, and comfort during procedures.
  • Adapt care delivery to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations, including cultural, age, and physical considerations.
  • Uphold organizational competencies and maintain a professional work environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
  • Ability to work independently in emergency room and trauma patient settings.

Education Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Fulfillment of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.

Certifications & Licenses

Required:

  • New Jersey State Radiology License.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification.

Languages

  • English (Speak, Read, Write).

Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40.
  • Hours per Day: 10.
  • Days per Week: 4.
  • Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
