Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Temp)
Location: Zephyrhills, FL

Overview:
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating therapy programs to support exceptional education students. This role includes collaborating with school staff, parents, and community resources to enhance the educational experience for students with unique needs.

Responsibilities:

Planning:

  • Design occupational therapy programs that align with district educational goals.
  • Pursue professional development through workshops, meetings, and collaboration with district staff.
  • Collaborate with ESE teachers and staff to develop and implement program initiatives.

Programming:

  • Assess strengths and weaknesses of referred students.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individual education and care plans.
  • Use assessment tools to determine therapy requirements.
  • Deliver therapy through individual and group sessions addressing educational, social, and emotional needs.
  • Support projects and programs to enhance students' educational experiences.
  • Coordinate schedules to accommodate exceptional students' needs.
  • Liaise with community resources and agencies for additional support.
  • Provide home-based strategies to parents and follow-up techniques to teachers.
  • Participate in student evaluations, screenings, and team meetings.

Public Relations:

  • Collaborate with school staff to integrate services effectively.
  • Conduct in-service programs to educate staff about occupational therapy goals.
  • Provide instructional strategies for exceptional students in classroom settings.
  • Share program information with community groups and parents as needed.

Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive evaluation records.
  • Submit schedules and progress reports to supervisors, school personnel, physicians, and parents.
  • Complete necessary local, state, and federal reports.
  • Refer students for further evaluation or services as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in Florida.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate-level education beyond a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Expertise in pediatric therapy.
