Job Title: Product Specialist
Location: Remote
Schedule: Includes every weekend (Saturday and Sunday), as well as some holidays on a rotational basis. Holidays will only be required a few times per year and will be paid at straight time.
75% Job Scheduling and Maintenance
Schedule jobs via Control-M/EM and make temporary and permanent modifications to existing jobs.
25% System Monitoring and Issue Resolution
Manage, monitor, and analyze mainframe and distributed systems batch workload.
Address job abends and collaborate with programmers to resolve issues.
Schedule pre-defined jobs within Control-M/EM and manage/maintain calendars within the tool.
Manage batch workload in a Production Control environment for both mainframe and distributed/client-server applications.
Identify and resolve common abends; escalate unresolved issues to management when SLAs may be jeopardized.
Document all issues in writing via ServiceNow tickets, including incidents and incident tasks.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to support staff.
Utilize system tools such as TSO/ISPF, JCL, and BMC's Control-M/Enterprise Manager efficiently.
Proficient with BMC Control-M/EM.
Experience with IBM mainframe tools such as TSO/ISPF and Utility Menu.
Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, and general mainframe systems.
ServiceNow experience is a plus.
Expertise in using BMC Enterprise Manager for scheduling batch jobs.
Familiarity with analyzing alert messages using tools such as Nagios, IP Monitor, and Tivoli.
Ability to recognize server problems and follow escalation procedures to maintain SLAs.
2-5 years of relevant experience in job scheduling and production control.
Expertise in managing batch workload for both mainframe and client-server applications.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with batch jobs.
Clear and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science preferred or at least 2 years of college education.

Efficient use of BMC Control-M/EM for both scheduling and managing batch jobs is mandatory.
Ability to analyze alert messages and escalate appropriately is critical to the role.
A strong foundation in mainframe technologies and job control is essential for success.
