Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Shift: Night Shift, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Shift Type: 2nd (Night Shift)

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Travel Nursing position in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care for expectant mothers and newborns in a high-volume hospital with some high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal heart rates, administering medications, assisting with deliveries, and supporting patients through the labor process.
  • Manage care for both low and high-acuity obstetric patients in a busy, fast-paced L&D environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and provide education to patients and families.
  • Assist with newborn care, including post-delivery assessments and initial care routines.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families during labor and delivery.
  • Work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while also being able to function independently when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Licensure: Valid and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, with demonstrated competency in high-acuity care.
  • Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required.
  • Skills: Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to handle high-stress situations effectively.
  • Shift Requirements: Must be able to commit to 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and be available for weekend and holiday rotations as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods, assist with patient mobility, and respond quickly in emergencies.
