Advanced PACU Nurse Specialist 

Job Summary:

• The Advanced PACU Nurse Specialist delivers expert post-anesthesia care, focusing on complex cases and supporting innovations in PACU protocols. 
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing care strategies for high-risk recovery patients and acting as a resource for the PACU team. 

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU 

Location: Multiple Locations in NJ – Traveller Role 

Schedule: 

• Hours Per Week: 40.00 

• Hours Per Day: 10.00 

• Days Per Week: 4.00 

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM 

• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements (float to perioperative services only if needed). 

Job Summary 

The Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians in delivering patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting care tailored to each patient’s needs. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assess and determine patient care priorities based on identified needs and the physician's medical diagnosis. 

• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans based on initial and ongoing assessments. 

• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions in alignment with care plans. 

• Document care according to standards of practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. 

• Manage the care of patients effectively while advocating for evidence-based practices. 

• Deliver patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills & Experience 

• Minimum of 2 recent years of critical care and PACU experience. 

• Strong background in Telemetry (must be telemetry certified). 

Preferred Skills & Experience 

• 3+ years of PACU experience preferred. 

Education 

• Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). 

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Certifications & Licensure 

• Required: 

• BLS (AHA) 

• ACLS (AHA) 

• PALS (AHA) 

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license 

Language Requirements 

• English (Speak, Read, Write)
