Job Title: CNA/Student Support Assistant/Health Assistant
Job Location: Pheonix, AZ 

Shift: Monday through Thursday (7:30 -3:30)

Job Description:

This position involves supporting students with special needs, including those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, or Visually Impaired, ages 3-5. Responsibilities include monitoring students using and caring for equipment to ensure safety, assisting with lifting and caring for students, and maintaining accurate student records as required by Federal, State, and Agency policies. The role also includes transporting students to and from activities or appointments when necessary and participating in professional growth opportunities, including training sessions and workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor students during the use of equipment to prevent injuries.
• Observe, record, and maintain student files in compliance with Federal, State, and Agency policies.
• Provide physical assistance with lifting, toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
• Transport students to and from activities and appointments.
• Continue professional growth through training and workshops.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of augmentative communication methods.
• Strong time management, organization, and planning abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with others.
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate assistive technology (AT) and office equipment.
• Physical ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.

Experience Required:

• Experience working with children, preferably in a healthcare or education-related field.

Preferred Experience:

• ASL skills when working with students or staff who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Braille skills when working with students who are blind or visually impaired.

Education Required:

• Proficiency in computer programs/software and office equipment relevant to the position.
• High School Diploma.

Preferred Education:

• Certified Health Assistant, Associate's Degree, or completion of 60 college units, or valid Paraprofessional certification.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training certifications or ability to obtain them within a specified timeline.
