Job Summary:

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians with patient care, and providing nursing care based on the patient’s needs. The role involves planning, implementing, and documenting care, as well as coordinating individualized care plans. This position is within a telemetry unit and will require the RN to float throughout the hospital as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient assessments, needs, and priorities.
• Assess patients’ needs and determine care priorities through ongoing evaluations and clinical observations.
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans based on assessments and patient needs.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as appropriate for patient care.
• Manage the care of patients, ensuring the quality of nursing services is maintained.
• Document patient care, treatment, and responses based on established standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and incorporate them into patient care strategies.
• Provide patient-centered care, aligning with the professional nursing practice model.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experience.
• Proficient in evaluating and managing telemetry patients.
• Ability to work effectively in a float pool role, adapting to different departments within the hospital as needed.

Required Education:

• ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing).
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education:

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
• Telemetry Certification or completion of a Telemetry Competency Exam (REQUIRED).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS - AHA Certification.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license (or multi-state compact license).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification.
• Telemetry Certification.
