Job Title: Medical Assistant I - Contract
Location: Manhattan, NY

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant I is responsible for performing a variety of clinical, technical, administrative, and service tasks to support patient care. The role involves assisting with medical procedures, managing patient intake, handling administrative duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical tasks such as EKGs, lab testing, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and audiometry as ordered by the physician.
• Take patient vital signs, medical history, and document allergies and medications.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient interactions, lab results, and referrals.
• Adhere to CLIA regulations and maintain quality controls for lab testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and medical areas.
• Stock and organize medical supplies and manage inventory.
• Provide patient support, including appointment scheduling, follow-up communication, and updating patient records.
• Process HMO referrals and notify patients of test results as directed by the physician.
• Maintain the patient waiting area and manage front desk operations, including phone calls and patient transactions.
• Ensure proper handling of financial transactions, ledger sheets, and cash box.

Qualifications:

• Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certifications: Current BLS, Medical Assistant Certification.
• Other Requirements: COVID-19 vaccination.
