Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Edison, NJ 08818

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse to provide specialized care to veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires expertise in the nursing process, documentation, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and patient evaluation. The OR RN will also supervise and evaluate the work of non-nursing direct care staff in the operating room.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room, ensuring all documentation reflects patient assessment, treatment plans, interventions, and outcomes.
• Oversee and evaluate the work of non-nursing support staff in the OR.
• Serve as a circulating and scrub nurse, ensuring patient safety and effective collaboration with the surgical team.
• Maintain Epic documentation of all procedures and patient interactions as required.
• Ensure high standards of reliability and availability for scheduled shifts, prioritizing this role as the primary commitment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR RN in one or more of the following specialties: Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotic, or Endovascular Surgery.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (American Heart Association) - Required
  • CNOR - Preferred
  • NIHSS Certification
• Skills:
  • Scrub and Circulating experience required
  • Epic documentation experience preferred
  • 1:1 patient care ratio

Educational Requirements:

• ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred

Licensing:

• Active RN license in NJ or a Compact RN license.

Work Schedule:

• Hours: 36 hours per week, 12 hours per day (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
• Days: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
• Additional Schedule Requirements:
  • No weekends or holidays
  • Minimum of 3 on-call shifts per month
