Job Title: Application Developer IV
Location: Saint Louis, MO (Remote option available)
Duration: 13 weeks with potential for extension

Job Overview:

This is a long-term project with the possibility of contract-to-hire conversion. The role is open to remote candidates and requires extensive experience in data warehousing and ETL processes, with a strong preference for knowledge in Cognos, Enterprise Data Warehouse, and Azure Data Factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop cost-effective data warehouse solutions, modifying and supporting complex data warehousing applications.
  • Create advanced extract, transform, and load (ETL) routines with detailed error handling across diverse data sources.
  • Handle data intake from API calls, create, and maintain data marts and dimensional models, ensuring timely updates.
  • Use Azure Data Factory to extract data from various sources, including large-scale data structures.
  • Provide expertise in the Azure platform and its toolsets, and handle data loading into big data structures.
  • Design data curation routines and implement best practices for data archival.
  • Maintain ETL workflows using multiple toolsets and support data migrations using tools like Azure Data Factory, Python, Spark, and .NET.
  • Ensure high availability of data integrations and data flows; conduct root cause analysis and resolve issues in case of data load failures.
  • Manage resource allocation for new data loads and process enhancements.
  • Offer technical leadership on data flow best practices and long-term ecosystem maintenance guidance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to learn technical skills rapidly through training, online resources, and collaboration.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for rapid service restoration.
  • Solid understanding of IT concepts like service bus architecture, database staging, and master data integration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (Git, DevOps).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to interact with clients to discuss technical solutions.
  • Adaptability to schedule changes and a willingness to work additional hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
