Job Title: Public Health Program Specialist
Location: Jefferson City, MO (with potential for remote work after initial period)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (occasional evening and weekend hours as needed)

Job Summary:

A state health agency is seeking a skilled Public Health Program Specialist to support community health initiatives and drive program success across Missouri. This full-time position focuses on developing and managing public health programs, fostering partnerships, and ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management:

  • Work closely with the Statewide Community Health Worker Advisory Committee to accomplish program objectives.
  • Research, draft, and submit grant deliverables, reports, program updates, and other documentation.
  • Monitor contracts to ensure compliance with deliverables and federal reporting standards.
  • Plan and coordinate special projects in line with public health goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Build and enhance partnerships with community organizations, coalitions, and public health stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison to facilitate effective communication and collaboration across various groups.

Training and Development:

  • Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and quizzes for staff and partners.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the program and recommend improvement initiatives.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of federal reports, contracts, and amendments.
  • Oversee procurement services and budget management related to the program in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Conduct background research and analysis on chronic disease and preventive care trends to guide program strategies.

Qualifications:

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in common office software and tools.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training materials and resources.
  • Knowledge of chronic disease management, preventive care, and public health best practices.
  • Experience in contract and grant management, including report preparation and program updates.
  • Proven ability to build and manage partnerships with community organizations and coalitions.

Work Environment and Requirements:

  • Location: Primarily based in Jefferson City, MO, with occasional travel throughout Missouri. Some out-of-state travel for training may be required.
  • Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours as necessary.
