Job Title: X-Ray Technician (0-2 years) - Contract

Location: NYC, NY 10029

Duration: 3 Months

Job Summary: The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating or overseeing the operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. This role includes preparing patients for radiological procedures, adhering to safety regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with patients and understanding their needs.
  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures, including positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting exposure controls on equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for both patients and staff, using beam restriction and shielding as appropriate.
  • Maintain production and quality of radiographs by following established protocols, processing images, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Document patient care services in records, ensuring accurate completion and verification of exams.
  • Ensure radiology equipment is functioning by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, calling for repairs, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with procedures and regulations.
  • Keep professional and technical knowledge current by completing continuing education, attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.
  • Support the team by accomplishing related tasks and meeting yearly competency requirements.
  • Complete age-specific competency assessments as required.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • No prior experience required
  • N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Licensing Requirements: New York State License (L.R.T), ARRT Certification

Certifications & Licenses:

  • N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)

Languages:

  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
