Job Summary:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, managing sterile processing, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. The role involves working in the IV room, utilizing a pharmacy dispensing system, and interfacing with electronic medical records (EMR). The ideal candidate should have a solid background in pharmaceutical practices, ensuring the safety and accuracy of all prescriptions and dosages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications and ensure accurate patient prescriptions.
• Manage sterile processing and maintain clean and organized dispensing areas.
• Work in the IV room, preparing sterile medications and ensuring compliance with all protocols.
• Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems for accurate medication handling.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review and update patient prescriptions.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Provide consultation to healthcare professionals and patients regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacist.
• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems and sterile processing protocols.
• Experience working in an IV room is preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR systems is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• A valid license to practice as a Pharmacist, issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
• Primary Source Verification of the license is required.

Languages:

• English (Speak, Read, Write)
