Job Title: Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech CWR

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Days Per Week: 5 days (Monday - Friday)
Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
On-Call: Required

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Tech I will assist physicians with various cardiovascular procedures, including but not limited to Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, Rotablator, Valvuloplasty, Intra-vascular Ultrasound, and Intra-aortic balloon pump insertion. This role involves gaining the skills necessary to support the evolving technologies in cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile trays and organize equipment for each procedure.
  • Prepare and position the patient for procedures, including EKG lead placement, betadine scrub, and patient draping.
  • Assist cardiac catheterization nurse in patient preparation and monitoring.
  • Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Operate power injectors and digital cine technologies.
  • Ensure proper storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic data on hospital systems.
  • Support emergency interventions to restore or maintain patient well-being.
  • Assist with the insertion and removal of vascular closure devices and procedural sheaths.
  • Assist with inventory control and notify relevant personnel of low supplies.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and periodically evaluate all technical equipment.
  • Provide patient care specific to the needs of different populations (age, culture, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and push/pull a minimum of 100 lbs.
  • Standing for at least 4 hours a day is required.

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area within an acute care hospital.
  • 6-12 months experience during a CVT accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
  • Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
  • Required certifications: RCIS, RCES, or RT.
  • Knowledge of electrophysiology procedures such as intra-procedure mapping, ablation, and implant devices is required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Preferred: CVT, RTR, RCIS, or RCES certifications.

Languages:

  • English (Speak, Read, Write)
