Job Title: Vascular Tech - Contract

Location: NYC, NY 10016

Duration: 2 Months

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Job Summary: The Vascular Tech will perform basic and advanced ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic and advanced ultrasound scans as prescribed by established protocols.
  • Review doctors' interpretations, patient files, and monitor patients.
  • Assist in the performance of interventional procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and imaging techniques to optimize ultrasound image quality.
  • Capture images onto PACS system and transfer them to physician workstations.
  • Evaluate images to ensure the study is diagnostic prior to releasing patients.
  • Prepare the exam room for procedures, ensuring all necessary inventory and stock are available before the radiologist's arrival.
  • Participate in the performance and documentation of quality control, quality assurance, and improvement activities.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment failures, document problems, and report associated downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment to comply with infection control and departmental protocols.
  • Operate and care for testing equipment.
  • Provide patient education related to specific ultrasound studies.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and family members.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, family members, and other employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience performing ultrasounds (preferred).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide patient education.
  • Infection Control certification.

Education: Graduate of a two-year ultrasound program with clinical and didactic education.

Language: Proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written).
