Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Physician Services CWR
Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
No Weekends, Holidays, On-call, or Float

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in clinical care under the supervision of a nurse or licensed medical practitioner and providing clerical office support.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepares exam rooms, treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visits and assists as directed.
• Records patient vital signs and updates medical charts.
• Operates and maintains special equipment as needed.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and lab tests after completing performance evaluation checklists.
• Completes and maintains patient records as directed.
• Assists with collections and billing procedures.
• Utilizes computer software for office management systems.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and delivers care tailored to the patient population's needs, including age, culture, and impairments.
• Performs additional duties or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and behavior standards.
• Must be able to lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours a day.

Education & Certifications:

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Required Certifications:
  • AHA BLS Certification.
  • One of the following certifications:
    • CMA-NHA (National Healthcareer Association)
    • CMA-NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
    • CMA-AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
    • RMA-AMT (American Medical Technologists)
    • RMA-NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
    • AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
    • NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)

Languages: Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)

Experience: 1 year of prior experience required.
