Schedule:

  • Hours Per Week: 40
  • Hours Per Day: 8
  • Days Per Week: 5 (Monday - Friday)
  • Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide clinical care and administrative support in a physician services setting. Under the supervision of licensed medical professionals, the CMA will assist with patient care, ensure proper preparation of medical equipment, and maintain accurate patient records. The role also includes performing lab tests, assisting with billing, and managing confidential patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, ensuring availability of supplies and instruments.
  • Assist in preparing patients for physician visits and examinations.
  • Record vital signs and update patient charts.
  • Operate and maintain special medical equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, PFTs, audiometry, Titmus tests, UDS, BAT, and phlebotomy after successful evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and filing systems.
  • Assist with billing and collection procedures.
  • Use office software to manage patient information and office systems.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Adapt care to the specific needs of a diverse patient population, including considerations for age, culture, and impairments (hearing, visual, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and caregivers.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
  • Uphold organizational standards of behavior.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull at least 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computerized processes and data entry.

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Required: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
    • CMA-NHA (National Healthcareer Association)
    • CMA-NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
    • CMA-AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
    • RMA-AMT (American Medical Technologists)
    • RMA-NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
    • AMCA (American Medical Certification Association)
    • NCMA (National Certification Medical Association)
