Job Title: Technology Architect
Duration: 3 years
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Summary:

The organization is preparing to implement a new Salesforce application in July 2024, with a focus on establishing a strong foundation for the Department of Labor's (DOL) success.

Key Objectives:

  1. Salesforce Architecture & Leadership:
    Collaborate with the Associate Deputy Commissioner to define the technical architecture for the Salesforce LPI application. Establish agreements with the implementation vendor and ensure high-quality software delivery.

  2. Technology & Solution Leadership:
    Work with the DOL Product Manager to finalize the product roadmap, based on user research and process optimization. Define development and QA workstreams, and refine the technical roadmap.

  3. Engineering Practices & IT Standards:
    Set engineering processes to empower the technical team and align with Commonwealth standards. Advocate for best practices and determine the organizational structure for ongoing operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading development projects and communicating with executives.
  • Experience with large-scale Salesforce applications in a lead technical role.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, data management tools, REST APIs, CI/CD, and mobile frameworks.
  • Experience managing vendor projects and advocating for high-quality delivery.
  • Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies, SaaS/IaaS platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and security/privacy in a public sector context.
