Job Summary:

The Stock Person - Logistics and Transport plays a critical role in managing the inventory and distribution of medical equipment and supplies throughout the hospital. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing equipment, ensuring all items are properly accounted for and in optimal working condition before being delivered to various departments.

The Stock Person is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of equipment to support clinical teams, contributing to efficient hospital operations. This position requires effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina is necessary to handle and transport medical equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate stock levels of equipment and supplies within the Equipment Center.
  • Regularly check inventory and ensure items are in good working condition.
  • Assist in stocktaking and record-keeping to track inventory movements and adjustments.
  • Receive incoming medical equipment and supplies, ensuring items match purchase orders and departmental requirements.
  • Properly store equipment and supplies in designated areas, following safety and storage protocols.
  • Coordinate and execute the transport and delivery of medical equipment to various departments across the hospital.
  • Respond to requests from clinical teams for specific equipment, ensuring timely delivery to support patient care.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment for functionality before transport.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department for repairs.
  • Work closely with the Equipment Center team to streamline deliveries and ensure smooth transport processes.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to meet their equipment needs efficiently.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a logistics, transport, or stock handling role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and supplies is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple deliveries and inventory tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clinical teams and other staff members.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and transporting of medical equipment.
  • Must be able to navigate various hospital locations for deliveries, including storage rooms and patient care areas.
