Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse - Night Shift (3x12)
Location: 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
Shift: Day (10 Hours)

Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Nurse is an active member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. The role involves practicing in a clinical setting that is led by Nurse Managers and supported by the Shared Governance Model, with care rooted in evidence-based practice and research. The RN Clinical Nurse is expected to, adhering to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, and the Code of Ethics Standards from the American Nurses Association.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care, using analytical and critical thinking to ensure that patient care is individualized and coordinated through effective partnerships.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to the patient’s specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and ensure that care is culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Partner with patients and their families (when appropriate) to communicate updates and make the patient’s goals the central focus of the care plan. This includes conducting bedside shift reports, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, and providing patient education as needed.
  • Coordinate and document the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model that supports interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork by collaborating with healthcare providers and supporting recruitment and retention initiatives to maintain a strong, inclusive healthcare team.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and the shared governance process, actively contributing to improving patient care outcomes.
  • Complete all initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  • Act as a mentor or preceptor to fellow nurses, modeling professional nursing practices and contributing to a healthy work environment.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice, participate in nursing research, and engage in performance improvement activities. Contribute to value analysis and decision-making regarding patient care products.
  • Ensure compliance with TJC Patient Safety Goals and safety protocols, along with other legal and accreditation standards.
  • Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum, collaborating with care managers and the healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes, such as reducing re-admission rates and avoiding adverse events.
  • Assist in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team to support efficient resource utilization and improved patient care outcomes.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited nursing school.

License/Certification:

  • Active Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred).

Experience:

  • Previous clinical nursing experience preferred but not mandatory.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology for clinical care.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond decisively and respectfully during emergencies.
