Job Title: Registered Nurse
Location: Flagstaff, AZ
Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Duration: 2 Years

Position Description:

• Deliver geriatric nursing care, treatment, and services in a professional manner, maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment.
• Provide nursing care for elderly residents; oversee and train staff in specific resident care duties.
• Observe and assess residents' behavior and physical conditions; administer medical treatment and interventions as per care plans.
• Act as a lead or provide limited supervision on assignments.
• When serving as charge nurse, oversee the functions of all licensed staff on the unit as well as Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Learn, implement, and monitor Arizona Management System (AMS) methods to improve work processes and efficiencies.
• Focus on providing Veteran/Member-centered care in all aspects of job performance.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in professional nursing methods and techniques
• Ability to observe and assess patient behavior and progress
• Knowledge of state and agency laws/regulations governing geriatric nursing practices
• Experience developing and implementing patient care plans in a team nursing environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Effective interpersonal relationship skills

Experience Required: Experience working in a nursing home setting

Education Required:

• Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona
• Ability to obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
• Valid driver's license (may be required to drive on State duty)
