Job Title: Medical Lab Technician (MLT) – Medical Laboratory
Location: Marietta, GA
Shift: Night Shift
Shifts per Week: 5
Hours per Shift: 8-hour shifts

Position Overview:

As a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) working the night shift, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses in the areas of chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and transfusion services. You will play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring patient conditions by providing timely and accurate test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests following established protocols.
  • Analyze samples in various areas, including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood banking.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in testing, utilizing automated equipment and manual techniques as needed.
  • Adhere to quality control procedures and conduct regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment or test results, ensuring that all laboratory processes meet regulatory standards.
  • Collect, process, and store specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure proper labeling and tracking of samples to avoid errors in patient results.

Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to report findings and ensure timely and accurate test results.
  • Collaborate with fellow laboratory staff to maintain a smooth workflow during the night shift.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) through a recognized credentialing agency.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts.
