Job Title: Certified Histological Technician
Location: Bronx, NY, 10461
Shift Time: 8 AM - 4 PM.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Certified Histological Technician with at least 1 year of experience to join our team. The Histological Technician will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination by pathologists. This role requires attention to detail, precision in sample preparation, and adherence to safety protocols within the anatomic pathology department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform routine histological procedures, including tissue fixation, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Prepare tissue specimens for pathological examination and diagnosis.
• Ensure the quality of histological slides for accurate diagnosis.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform quality control checks.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
• Document work accurately and maintain thorough records in compliance with department policies.
• Collaborate with the pathology team to ensure the timely delivery of specimens and results.

Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Histological Technician.
• Proficient in histological techniques and tissue preparation.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in English (speak, read, write).

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Valid certification as a Histologic Technician issued by NYSED.
• BLS certification preferred.

Licenses:

• Valid license to practice as a Histotechnologist issued by NYSED.
• Anatomic Pathology certification required.
