Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Ocoee, FL
Duration: 12 months

Required Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Institute Degree/Certificate in Information Systems or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments, including network operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
  • Desired: Networking certifications and experience with HPE/Aruba networking equipment.

Position Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for strategic network planning, design, and optimization. This role involves developing advanced network solutions using current and emerging technologies, including wireless infrastructure. The Network Engineer translates business needs into effective network designs, recommends hardware and software, ensures compliance, and manages the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, and wireless hubs. The role includes evaluating new products, monitoring network performance, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and leading enterprise-wide initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Expertly configure and manage network components, including DMARC, workstations, fiber distribution, routers, switches, DHCP, and network topology to ensure excellent Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Plan, implement, and manage copper and fiber network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity.
  • Mentor junior staff on network management, patch management, fault identification, and data/telecom access.
  • Handle enterprise switching products with expertise in capacity and risk assessment, contingency planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Actively participate in team projects, meetings, and assignments.
  • Apply knowledge of the OSI model to data flow management throughout the environment.
  • Configure and manage network switch equipment, ensuring protocol compatibility, system tuning, and providing enhancement recommendations.
  • Strategize infrastructure equipment replacement, adhering to security standards and keeping systems updated.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security Team on firewall rules and compliance with industry standards.
  • Adhere to departmental procedures and policies, including on-site travel for issue resolution and resource deployment.
  • Track incidents and IT equipment transfers/relocation accurately through service desk ticketing systems.
  • Document technology solutions for issue resolution and process improvements.
  • Contribute to Property Management Reports (PMRs) creation and tracking.
  • Participate in after-hours (evening and weekend) on-call rotation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Travel to remote locations for support as needed.
