Senior Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Manager to oversee and manage the Health Care and Administration Services (HCAS) infrastructure at the Health and Human Services (HHS) department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining HCAS instances, managing acquisition-related technical capabilities, and ensuring optimal system performance. This role includes overseeing maintenance activities, troubleshooting, problem management, and coordinating with hosting providers to ensure reliable hardware functionality.

    HCAS Instance Management:

• Oversee the maintenance and management of HCAS instances, ensuring consistent availability and performance of the system.
• Perform system cloning and periodic maintenance activities to keep infrastructure in line with operational requirements.
• Monitor and execute troubleshooting for system issues, working to resolve incidents and maintain system integrity.

    Problem and Change Management:

• Conduct problem management, including root cause analysis to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Perform patch and change analysis, coordinating with stakeholders to manage the deployment of necessary updates and changes.
• Manage and deploy system changes, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime during updates.

    Service Request Fulfillment and Script Development:

• Fulfill service requests related to infrastructure needs, ensuring timely and efficient response to user requirements.
• Develop and maintain system scripts for automation, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.

    Coordination with Hosting Provider:

• Work closely with the hosting provider to ensure that the system’s hardware performs as expected, addressing any performance issues or outages.
• Act as the liaison between HHS and the hosting provider to ensure consistent and reliable infrastructure support.

    Reporting and Readiness:

• Prepare and publish readiness reports to inform stakeholders of system status, maintenance schedules, and performance metrics.
• Maintain documentation and records of all infrastructure-related activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

    Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure management, including hands-on experience with system maintenance, problem resolution, and change management.
• Proven experience working with large-scale IT environments, preferably within government or healthcare sectors.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating with hosting providers for system performance management.

    Skills:

• Strong technical background in system management, cloning, troubleshooting, and script development.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Knowledge of infrastructure management tools and practices, with a focus on ensuring high availability and performance.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with internal teams and external providers.
