Description:

The Paraprofessional will work in a school setting, supporting instructional efforts at a Title I school. This position is designed to assist teachers in providing educational support to students, focusing on classroom instruction and aiding in the general classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Assistance:

   • Support teachers in classroom management and instructional activities.
   • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students as directed by the teacher.
   • Assist in implementing lesson plans and reinforcing learning concepts introduced by teachers.

2. Instructional Support:

   • Help in administering educational activities and ensuring students are engaged and on task.
   • Monitor students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
   • Assist in grading assignments, organizing instructional materials, and maintaining student records.

3. Student Support:

   • Offer additional assistance to students with special needs or learning disabilities as needed.
   • Facilitate effective communication between teachers and students.
   • Support students with their daily activities and routines.

4. General Duties:

   • Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and preparation for daily lessons.
   • Support teachers with any clerical or administrative tasks as required.
   • Provide a positive and supportive role model for students.

Qualifications:

• Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of college education (48 units) or an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree or higher.
• Title I Paraprofessional Requirements:
  • Must meet the paraprofessional requirements for Title I schools as stipulated by law.
