Job Title: Post Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse
Duration: 3+Months(Extendable)
Work Location: Gastonia, NC
Shift timing: Overnight 12HR: 7p-7a

Requirement: Active State RN License, Primary Source Verification, AHA BLS, ACLS

Job Description:

  • Monitor and assess the condition of post-ICU patients, identifying any changes or complications.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by the healthcare team.
  • Provide wound care, respiratory care, and other specialized nursing care as required.
  • Assist with the transition of care from ICU to the post-ICU unit, ensuring all necessary information and care plans are communicated.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs and respond to any changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Utilize advanced equipment to monitor patients, including telemetry, oxygen therapy, and intravenous infusions.
  • Document patient care, assessments, and observations accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and recovery progress.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning and discharge planning.
  • Provide guidance on managing potential complications or symptoms after discharge.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring patient safety and quality of care.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including infection control and medication administration standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Stay current with nursing best practices, including the latest developments in post-ICU care.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in critical care, ICU, or post-ICU nursing.
  • Experience in a telemetry or step-down unit is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
