Job Title: Senior ETL Developer
Duration: 12 months
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Work Hours: 40 per week

Summary:

The Data Operations and Technology unit is seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer with extensive experience in the Talend Data Fabric toolset. This role focuses on migrating an existing ETL system to Talend ETL technology. The ideal candidate will excel in interpreting and implementing requirements, asking clarifying questions as needed, and collaborating with team members to drive the project from initiation through to successful completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new ETL jobs using the Talend ETL toolset.
  • Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction and transformation from diverse sources, including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.
  • Design and create database tables and define appropriate constraints based on requirements.
  • Work closely with team members to understand source system structures, data retrieval techniques, and organizational tools.
  • Develop data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages such as SQL, Bash, and Python.
  • Ensure data is cleaned, validated, and transformed to conform to target schema and quality standards.
  • Contribute to data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in troubleshooting to ensure data integrity and process efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience with Talend Data Fabric in a professional environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Talend Data Fabric, including ESB and MDM development tasks, with expertise in creating and converting ETL processes from technical specifications and other ETL tools.
  • Five years of experience in ETL development within a health data organization.
  • At least three years of experience in database, data warehouse, ETL, business intelligence, or software development.
  • Proven experience in developing projects using Talend for Data Integration and Cloud Integration, handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS, and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos.
  • Proficiency with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.
  • Ability to create and modify tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects.
  • Capable of working independently in a hybrid work environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA policies and experience with handling PII and PHI sensitive data.
  • Effective in managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining organized, detailed, and process-oriented work habits.
