Hours Per Week: 36
Hours Per Day: 12
Days Per Week: 3
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
13-week assignment with every other weekend and holidays required. No on-call duties.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for delivering patient-centered care in a high-acuity environment. The RN evaluates patient needs, assists physicians, and provides comprehensive nursing care, from initial assessment through to discharge planning. The role involves developing and implementing individualized care plans based on thorough patient assessments, ensuring quality standards are met, and advocating for evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and document nursing care tailored to the needs of NICU patients.
  • Assess patient needs, prioritize care, and adjust care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage the overall care of NICU patients.
  • Document all aspects of care according to standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
  • Advocate for and support evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a NICU or related specialty.

Educational Requirements:

Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure:

Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA.
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English (speak, read, write).
