Job Title: Long Term Care Rheumatology Clinic Registered Nurse 
Location: Ithaca, NY
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Days per Week: 5 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Long Term Care Rheumatology Clinic plays a vital role in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with rheumatologic conditions. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and supporting the medical team in a clinical environment. The RN will work closely with physicians, nurse managers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care and manage patient treatments effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with rheumatologic conditions.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
  • Educate patients and their families about managing rheumatologic conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions.
  • Uphold the principles of patient-centered care, ensuring patients' needs and preferences are respected.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with advancements in rheumatology care.
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in a rheumatology or long-term care setting.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to manage multiple patients effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Commitment to patient education and advocacy.

Experience: Two years plus of experience in nursing, with a focus on rheumatology or long-term care preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in rheumatology or long-term care nursing are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including moving and assisting patients.
  • Capacity to work 8-hour day shifts.
