Job Summary
We are seeking a Tumor Registrar to support front-end patient registration and administrative operations within a hospital department. This role is responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, data entry, chart management, and providing customer service to patients, visitors, and clinical staff.
Local candidates only – must be able to commute daily to Mineola, Long Island, NY.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
Register patients by accurately entering and updating demographic, financial, and insurance information
Verify insurance and patient information through interviews with patients or family members
Answer incoming calls, route appropriately, and take accurate messages
Prepare, retrieve, maintain, and file patient charts and records
Enter data into hospital systems accurately and in a timely manner
Obtain patient signatures for required consent and documentation
Schedule clinic appointments and manage patient recall files
Process laboratory specimens according to established procedures
Maintain logs, forms, and departmental documentation per policy
Skills & Qualifications
6–9 months of healthcare or hospital administrative experience preferred
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
