Mammography Technician

Location: New York, New York
Job Type: Contract (9 Weeks)
Local Pay Rate: $2,150 - $2,250 Weekly
Traveler Pay Rate: $2,700 - $2,800 Weekly
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technician to provide high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography services in a fast-paced outpatient imaging environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest imaging and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.

• Strong competency in mammography positioning and breast compression techniques.

• Experience evaluating image quality and ensuring diagnostic standards are met.

• Experience utilizing PACS and electronic imaging systems.

• Experience documenting procedures within imaging documentation systems.

• New York State Diagnostic Radiography License required.

• ARRT Registration required.

• Must maintain MQSA compliance requirements.

• Mammography credentials required.

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program preferred.

• Experience using EPIC preferred.

• Strong communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine screening mammography examinations.

• Perform diagnostic mammography studies as ordered.

• Position patients appropriately and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

• Evaluate image quality and ensure technical accuracy.

• Label and document all imaging studies according to departmental standards.

• Transmit completed studies to PACS in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation.

• Verify patient identification and procedure accuracy before imaging.

• Ensure compliance with MQSA, ARRT, state regulations, and quality standards.

• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout procedures.

• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members.
