Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care services in an acute care hospital setting. The Pharmacist will be responsible for medication verification, dispensing, medication safety, sterile preparation support, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Schedule

  • Evening/Night Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
  • Potential additional shifts: 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM
  • 5 Days Per Week
  • 37.5 Hours Per Week

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Pharmacy

Licensure

  • Active New York State Pharmacist License
  • Primary Source Verification of Pharmacist License

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Pharmacist experience

Key Responsibilities

Medication Management

  • Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety
  • Dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and pharmacy protocols

Pharmacy Operations

  • Support sterile compounding and IV room activities
  • Ensure proper medication preparation, labeling, storage, and distribution
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and records

Clinical Support

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy
  • Provide medication-related education and consultation to clinical teams
  • Promote safe and effective medication use throughout the organization

Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, hospital policies, and safety standards
  • Assist with inventory management and medication storage procedures
  • Utilize EMR and pharmacy dispensing systems to support patient care activities
