Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Type: Contract | 8 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM | 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours Per Week
Rotating Schedule | Saturday Rotation Required | 1-Hour Unpaid Lunch
Pay Rate:
Local: $60 - $70/hour
Travel: $70 - $80/hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an MRI Technologist for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and imaging protocols.
Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including safety screening and education.
Administer contrast media in accordance with NYS certification and facility protocols.
Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Operate MRI equipment and related imaging software (RIS, HIS, PACS).
Monitor patients during procedures and ensure safety throughout imaging.
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to support accurate imaging interpretation.
Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and modality-specific systems.
Ensure compliance with MRI safety, patient safety, and infection control standards.
Participate in rotating schedules, including Saturdays and extended hours as required.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
NYS Certification to inject contrast media.
ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
Minimum 1 year of Diagnostic Imaging experience.
Proficiency with EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality-specific software.
Strong understanding of MRI safety protocols and patient care procedures.
Ability to work rotating schedules in a high-volume hospital environment.
Strong communication, technical, and patient management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior MRI experience.
Experience in a high-volume acute care hospital setting.
Advanced knowledge of MRI imaging protocols and contrast administration.
Experience working with multiple imaging platforms and software systems.
Additional Information
Orientation: 8 hours non-billable plus 8 hours at 70% non-billable rate.
Saturday rotation required.
High-volume diagnostic imaging environment.
