Phlebotomist – Evening Shift (Medical Laboratory)
Location: Albany, OR
Facility: Samaritan Health Services
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Pay Rate: $28–$30/hr (W2) | $30–$37/hr (Travel/Stipend based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support a high-volume hospital laboratory team. This role requires strong venipuncture skills, excellent patient interaction, and experience handling inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department specimens in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using proper patient identification.
Collect, label, process, and transport specimens including blood and body fluids.
Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling and storage procedures.
Enter patient demographics and process lab orders in HIS/LIS systems.
Communicate with clinical staff to resolve order or specimen discrepancies.
Support inpatient, outpatient, and ED specimen collection needs.
Perform waived testing (glucose, urinalysis, rapid tests) as required.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory.
Respond to STAT requests and ensure timely specimen delivery.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience or approved training program completion.
Current BLS (Healthcare Provider level) certification.
Strong venipuncture and specimen handling skills.
Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Strong communication and patient care skills.
