Job Title: Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Rochester, NY
Type: Travel Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift & Schedule: Evening/Night Shift | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Flexibility Required)
Pay Rate:
Travel: $38 - $45/hr Including Stipend (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for an exciting Travel job in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures.

  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection control standards.

  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment.

  • Perform surgical counts according to facility protocols.

  • Anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout procedures.

  • Set up and manage equipment for laparoscopic, robotic, orthopedic, vascular, ENT, neurological, thoracic, and urological surgeries.

  • Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transport as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with Universal Protocol (Time-Out) procedures and sharps safety standards.

  • Participate in on-call coverage, weekend, and holiday rotations as required.

  • Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient surgical operations.

  • Follow decontamination, sterilization, and instrument processing standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.

  • Exception: Travelers who worked as a Surgical Technologist in New York prior to 2015 may qualify without CST certification.

  • Minimum 3 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience.

  • Previous travel experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterilization processes, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing surgical schedules.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple surgical specialties.

  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

  • Experience supporting robotic, orthopedic, vascular, ENT, neurological, thoracic, and urological procedures.

  • Experience working in high-volume surgical services departments.
