Shift & Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | 37.5–40 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate: $41 - $48/hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Sterile Processing Associate II (SPD Technician II) for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
Perform cleaning, decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and power equipment.
Disassemble, inspect, and thoroughly clean instruments to ensure removal of all bioburden.
Operate manual and automated cleaning and sterilization equipment while troubleshooting basic issues.
Prepare, assemble, package, and label general and specialty surgical instrument trays according to count sheets and preference cards.
Ensure proper selection, sequencing, and arrangement of instruments for effective sterilization.
Apply chemical and mechanical indicators to monitor sterilization processes and maintain quality control standards.
Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of all instruments, trays, and sterilization cycles in the instrument tracking system.
Scan, enter, and update all transactions, sets, and workflows in compliance with hospital documentation standards.
Prepare and dispatch surgical cases using Horizon Surgical Manager or similar OR scheduling systems.
Verify correct surgical supplies, quantities, and tray accuracy prior to delivery to operating rooms.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and transport of sterile items in accordance with infection control guidelines.
Maintain OSHA safety standards and adhere to hospital infection prevention protocols at all times.
Assist with stocking, transporting, cleaning, and general supply management as needed.
Collaborate with OR staff, surgeons, and supply chain teams to ensure timely case readiness.
Required Qualifications
CRCST certification required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of sterile processing experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization procedures.
Experience with decontamination, assembly, and sterile processing workflows.
Ability to operate automated sterilization and cleaning equipment.
Basic computer skills including MS Office and instrument tracking systems.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands, including lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Horizon Surgical Manager or similar OR scheduling systems.
Experience working in a high-volume hospital or surgical environment.
