Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location: West Hollywood, CA

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The technician plays a critical role in infection prevention and patient safety by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly processed and available for surgical and procedural services.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience required.

  • Current CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA Certification required.

  • Active certification required at the time of submission.

  • Flu Vaccine required (No Exemptions).

  • Knowledge of sterilization processes, instrument tracking, and infection control standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical services environment.

  • First-Time Travelers Not Accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.

  • Operate sterilization equipment following established procedures and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain instrument inventory and ensure proper storage of sterile supplies.

  • Perform quality checks on instrument sets and sterile packages.

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and report maintenance concerns as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate sterilization and tracking documentation.

  • Collaborate with surgical services and clinical staff to ensure instrument availability.

  • Support efficient workflow within the Sterile Processing Department.
