Location: Rochester, NY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Evening/Night Rotation (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM / 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency and trauma-related conditions. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, triage, treatment coordination, critical interventions, and ongoing patient monitoring in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing experience, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage high-acuity patients effectively.
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
Current AHA BLS Certification required.
Current AHA ACLS Certification required.
Current NIHSS Certification required.
Minimum recent Emergency Department experience required.
Experience with EPIC EMR required.
Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
Experience with ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, and IV vasopressors.
Trauma, stroke, and emergency care experience required.
Assess, prioritize, and provide emergency nursing care to patients of varying acuity levels.
Perform triage assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and emergency treatments.
Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and emergency response situations.
Provide care for trauma, stroke, orthopedic, neurological, and medical emergency patients.
Manage ventilated patients and respiratory support therapies.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Follow infection control, isolation, and patient safety protocols.
Float to appropriate units based on patient care needs and skillset.
